The new web based FrontEnd Clearing system (FEC) is scheduled for launch mid-June 2002. In anticipation, Member Firms are now encouraged to secure access to the CME Portal web site for their staff.

Please note that with the initial launch of FEC, the GLOBEX Inquiry screens (GB2) will be disabled and accessible only through the CME Portal. Eventually, all 3270 applications will be disabled and available only through the Internet on the CME Portal -- FEC link.

As a reminder, the CME Portal is a secure Internet web site where users can access a variety of systems, such as CME online applications, documentation, etc. The following applications are currently available via the Portal:

  • 3270 applications, including TES, GUS,ATOM, GAINS, etc

  • Document Direct (INFOPAC via the Internet)

  • Clearing 21 applications

  • Exchange Fee System (EFS)

To access the Portal, users should have a valid CME 3270 id and must be registered on the site.

Users should complete an on-line access form to apply for access. The form can be either downloaded from the Client Management pages -  see link: http://www.cme.com/files/s_onlineaccess.pdf on the CME web site, or by calling the Customer Support Group (312) 930-3444. Please allow 24 hours for processing.
